AND “AMERICA’S ACCOUNTANT”

Dan Geltrude, lifelong Nutley resident, is a Certified Public Accountant and Managing Partner and Director of Geltrude’s Family Office Practice in Nutley. Known as “America’s Accountant” he is the media’s “Go-ToExpert” for finance, economic and tax-related topics. He is also co-founder of The Mike Geltrude Foundation, a 501(c)(3) organization that was established for Melanoma Awareness, Education and Research in memory of his late father Mike Geltrude.

A 1983 graduate of Nutley High School, Geltrude holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from Rider University, a Master’s Degree in Taxation from Fairleigh Dickinson University and a Master’s Degree in Human Resources and Employment Relations from Penn State University. In 1995, he founded Geltrude & Company, a premier accounting, and financial advisory firm. As Managing Partner and Director, he leads a team of dedicated professionals to provide a complete range of accounting and tax, advanced planning, advisory and lifestyle services. In addition, he has served on the board of directors and advisory boards for a number of banking institutions over a twenty-year period. He successfully passed the Series 7 Exam and currently holds a license for life, health, and disability insurance.

With his education, work experience, and excellent communication skills, Dan is a natural teacher and has lent his talents to education. He has taught at Penn State University and is currently an accounting professor at Montclair University. He has also just written the bestselling book, “Positive Financial Karma” in 2019.

In 2006, Dan along with his brother John, co-founded the Mike Geltrude Foundation. This 501(c)(3) organization raises funds to support various national Melanoma Foundations that focus on awareness, detection, research, and patient support services. The Foundation’s goal is to initiate programs in the local school systems for Melanoma awareness. Each year they host a fundraising dinner at Nanina’s in the Park, which has attracted high profile keynote speakers such as Phil Simms and Ron Guidry. The Foundation’s awareness programs have resulted programs have resulted in saving many lives.
