2013 Hall of Fame Inductee – Anthony Baratta, Jr.

Anthony Baratta, Jr., partner of the New York City interior design firm Diamond Baratta, has been featured in numerous journals, magazines and newspapers and continues to be a creative force in the interior design industry.

Anthony Baratta, Jr., came to Nutley with his family in 1961 and was graduated from Nutley High School in 1977. After graduation from Fordham University with an Art History Major, he joined  William Diamond of New York City as an interior designer, becoming a partner and forming Diamond Baratta Design in 1994.

Diamond Baratta was dubbed “Decorating’s Dynamic Duo” by House Beautiful Magazine, known for a colorful, vivacious and vibrant style with playful patterns and for their high standards of craftsmanship. Their extensive home interior design projects include locations in New York City, Long Island, New Jersey, Connecticut, Florida and Colorado. Their work has been published in Architectural Digest, The New York Times Magazine, House Beautiful, House and Garden and various regional journals. Two books: Diamond Baratta Design (2006)
and All-American: the Exuberant Style of William Diamond and Anthony Baratta (2009) feature their most recent projects with stunning photography. William and Anthony, as a team, were named one of Traditional Homes “20 Design Icons” and were awarded Benjamin Moore’s “Hue Award” for life time achievement in design.

Anthony has appeared on television, has lectured nationally and has been a developer of creative designs for Stark Carpet,Inc. and Lee Jofa Design. One of the fabric patterns designed for Lee Jofa has been named Nutley Stripe. Since William Diamond’s retirement, Anthony continues interior design work with his new company, Anthony Baratta, LLC and plans on many more years of creating unique and inspiring interiors.
