2015 Hall of Fame Inductee – Thomas Francisco

Award Winning Photographer

Thomas Francisco is an award-winning photographer and creative director/graphic
designer whose career spans four decades in commercial and fine arts. He is
president and founder of Thomas Francisco & Associates, lnc., a graphic design
and photography studio. A graduate of The Newark School of Fine and lndustrial
Art, Mr. Francisco was raised in Nutley, where he attended Holy Family School and
was graduated from Nutley High School in 1969.

Over his forty year career, Mr. Francisco has developed marketing concepts,
graphics, photographic images and collateral promotional materials for such clients
as BASF Corp., Black & Decker, Geoffrey Beene, Hopper papers, Johnson &
Johnson, Lenox China, Macy’s, Mikasa, Modern Bride Magazine, Reader’s Digest,
Schering-Plough, Sony, Union Camp, Van Heusen Corp. and Verizon.

A self-taught, disciplined photographer, Mr. Francisco’s study of concept, lighting
and composition is reflected in work recognized by Graphis, an internationally
published showcase of photography. His images have been published in AR 100,
Print Magazine Annuals, and photography source books such as the Workbook,
Black Book, and Single lmage.

His work in photography, graphic design and fine art is widely recognized. He has
received awards from`: The New Jersey State Council on the Arts, The Montclair
Arts Festival, The American Society of Media Photographers – New York and New
Jersey chapters, The Art Directors Club of New Jersey, The New Jersey AD Club,
The Art Directors Club of New York, The lnternational Advertising Festival, Print
Magazine Annual Awards Show, The One Show / NY and The American lnstitute
of Graphic Arts (AIGA).

Mr. Francisco is a founding member and past president of the American Society of
Media Photographers, New Jersey chapter (ASMP/NJ), a leading trade association
for publication photographers. ln that role he spearheaded the formation of the
Fine Arts Grants Fund to provide scholarship awards for student photographers.
He is also a past member of Advertising Photographers of America (ApA) and
American lnstitute of Graphics Arts (AIGA).
